2. Referral for speech and language therapy

Before starting therapy, please obtain a referral from a specialist physician (e.g., pediatrician, ENT, orthodontist, neurologist) or your general practitioner.

Please ensure the referral includes the following information:

• Your personal details
• Medical diagnosis
• 10 mal 60 Minuten Logopädie (LP03)
• Doctor’s stamp
• Date of issue

Have the referral approved by your health insurance provider (chefärztliche Bewilligung) and bring the confirmation no later than your second therapy session.

Please note: ÖGK and BVAEB are currently suspending the requirement for prior medical approval (Bewilligungspflicht).

Reimbursement by your insurance fund is only possible after the referral has been approved.

3. Speech and Language Therapy

Please bring the approved referral and any relevant previous medical reports to your first session.

The first appointment includes a detailed case history (anamnesis) and diagnostic assessment. Based on this, we will create an individual therapy plan, define specific goals and discuss the frequency and duration of sessions.

4. Fees & Reimbursement

I am a private speech and language pathologist (Wahllogopädin) for all Austrian health insurance providers and do not have direct contracts with the health insurance providers. This means you pay the fee upfront and can then submit the invoice to your health insurance for partial reimbursement.

The fee includes direct therapy time, as well as associated professional tasks such as preparation, follow-up and documentation.

Payments can be made by bank transfer.

After the completion and payment of your therapy sessions, you will receive an invoice. Together with the approved referral, you can submit this to your health insurance provider. Typically, 50–80% of the official rate is reimbursed. If you have private supplemental insurance, full reimbursement may be possible.

Cancellations

Please cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance, either via SMS or phone (voicemail is fine).

Late cancellations or missed appointments without notice will be charged in full.
