Focus Areas

I provide assessment, consultation and treatment for:

  • Early language development disorders
    e.g. “Late Talkers”: children who speak fewer than 50 words and do not yet combine two words by the age of two
 
  • Speech sound disorders
    • Articulation disorders 
      e.g. difficulty producing specific sounds such as /sh/, lisping, or unclear speech 
    • Phonological disorders 
      e.g. sounds are swapped, saying “sue” instead of “shoe” or “tat” instead of “cat”
    • Childhood apraxia of speech (verbal dyspraxia)
      e.g. visible effort when speaking, difficulty coordinating speech movements
 
  • Delayed or disordered language development, including in bilingual or multilingual children
    e.g. limited vocabulary, grammatical errors, reduced sentence structure, poor comprehension
 
  • Orofacial dysfunctions
  • e.g. open-mouth posture, incorrect swallowing pattern, tongue resting between the teeth — also as part of orthodontic treatment (e.g. braces)

  • Auditory processing disorder (APD)
    e.g. difficulties remembering spoken information, confusing similar-sounding words such as “rat” and “hat” 
 
  • Dyslexia, Reading and writing difficulties
    e.g. letter reversals or omissions while writing, challenges with reading fluency or learning spelling rules
 
  • Communication and interaction disorders
    e.g. limited or no eye contact, difficulty initiating or maintaining dialogue
 
  • Hearing impairments
    e.g. auditory training for children with hearing aids or cochlear implants (CI), early speech development in hearing-impaired children, including support in Austrian Sign Language

  • Pediatric voice disorders
    e.g. persistent hoarseness
